What That Be?

The other day when i was at the beach, i came across this strange looking flower. I have never seen this flower before, but it definitely caught my attention. Do you know what this flower is called? I have some wild guesses, but i will wait for your reply.

  1. That sure is beautiful...
but I have no idea what it is.
Oh... by the way... the poem that
you replied to is no longer.
I have another in its place.
It sounded too much like a sermon...not me.
    Take care!

I think I made something like this in my Art class in grade 2!
no really it was with 'crap paper' but still the mean big huge teacher gave me a B!.
She said, 'It has too many petals for the stem to hold'.

  9. Hey~
    Yeah...kind of spooky timing again
    last night... commenting
    at the same time again.
Well, I put my poem about "Linda"
back on my blog... as she read your comment about it.
She sent me an email to ask if she
was the "Linda" I wrote about.
I told her I only have one friend
    named Linda.
    So,she wanted to read it...
I won't be taken it off again...
not really sure why I did in the
    first place.
    Well, Take care!

  14. Hi G, i dont know the answer myself. I at first, thought it was a blooming artichoke, but then realised that i have not seen an artichoke this big and that too with a shade of red. So i guess it must be some variant of cactus.

    Have you gotten the rain?
    I sent it Special Delivery!
    It is sooooooooo beautiful here
    this morning!
Sunny, not too hot and the air is so fresh and crisp after the all
    night rain!

    I am doing better today.
I was upset for a couple of reasons
    this week.
My ex brother in law Michael
    died a week ago today!
He has been divorced from my sister for a long time, but we stayed good friends.
I was just sad remembering him as
he did not have a very good life for quite some time.
He was quite sick... and about
6 months ago he had to go into
a nursing home... and he was way too young to be there.

I saw him recently, and all he talked about was that he "wished
Chris(his son) would call him and
come visit him" Now, it is too late for Chris to call or visit
him... that just made me so very
    sad!
And, I was planning to call him on
    the day he died.

And, then there is my husband.
I keep asking him to read my blog,
but he answers me" But, I don't
    like poetry"
Yeah... we are different... like day and night.
I told him this morning " I am
going to run away with the milkman
(yes, we do have a milkman)
If you do not read my poetry"

So, I will let you know soon if I
am with my milkman. I bet he likes
    poetry!

Have a great day... and let me know if you get that rain I sent!
    Take care!

    Margie:)

  28. Interesting comments on your blog. Must be a cactus of some sort. I like your headline banner think up at the top. Very nice.

  29. Margie, belive it or not. I got your delivery. I had a dream full of rain. I was out there in a green lush field taking pictures, running wild, soaking wet, no worries in life. It was fun and felt good. Rain is something i dont get to see a lot here... So everytime it rains, im out on the road to soak it in :)

I'm sorry to hear about your ex brother-in-law. May his soul rest in peace and may you and your family have the strength to bear the loss and move on.

Milkman? lol.. that was funny. We dont have a milkman, but we have a UPS delivery guy who is into Tupac. Crazy fan of Tupac he is... I wonder if i can ask him to post on your blog, maybe he can start rapping to your poetry... hahahaha... just messing with you.

    Take care and be strong.

  30. hi natalie. Welcome to my blog. I assume you are referring to the sunset in the header of my blog. I shot it when i was driving up Highway 101 N from Gilroy. I took couple of shots and stitched them to make a panaromic picture. I love the hues, and the power grid towers add to the nice effect :) Thanks for stopping by. C'ya around -ari

  32. ari... Wow! That was a neat dream!
No cares in the world... just doing what you love to do in the rain... being happy and free!

Thanks so much for the comforting
    words about my ex-brother-in-law.
I miss him a lot... and do grieve
    for his son and daughter.
It is sad to lose a father when he is still young.

As for my milkman... well, I think
I will just let him be... he might
like poetry less than my hubby...
and where would I be then?
The UPS delivery guy rapping to
my poetry sounds pretty cool though... ok... check with him
and get back to me. Just kidding !
That would be pretty funny though!
    Take care!

    Margie:)

  33. No one has named your succulent yet? It's either a sempervivum or a sepervivum calcoreum rosularia. The rounded leaves lend itself to a rosularia. If not, this is the right track. Succulents. Sempervivum calcoreum and what ever funky name they put after it. It's beautiful.

You found it. Name it. I vote for Bill!

    I go for Bob :)
